- Do you need a 4x4 car in Iceland?
If you plan to explore the highlands of Iceland, you must have a 4x4 vehicle; highland roads are also referred to as F-roads. Having a 4x4 car during the winter time can be important while driving in the snow and icy conditions.
- How do I pick up my car with Icerental4x4?
Our office is around a 7-minute drive from the Airport terminal. We will meet you in the arrival hall with a sign with our logo on it and take you to our office, where you will receive your vehicle
- Can I rent a car in Iceland without a credit card?
With Icerental4x4, you can rent a car without a credit card. If our Premium or Platinum insurance package is taken, we do not require any credit card.
- How can I pay for my rental?
When you book online, you can pay either the full amount or 15% of the rental cost and the remaining amount at pickup. While paying online, you can pay with a debit or credit card. You can pay with a credit card when you pick up your car. At our counter, we accept all major credit cards.
- What is a Roof Tent?
A roof tent is a tent that is placed on top of the vehicle. It is effortless to set up or fold down. Roof Tents are available for rent with our 4x4 vehicles.
- How big is the sleeping space in the roof tent?
With our Rooftop Tent camper vehicles, you have a mattress (140/200CM), pillows, and bed linen for two. The mattress is very comfortable and a full-size bed for two persons. The dimensions are W: 140 CM and L: 200CM.
- How are cancellations handled?
You can cancel your booking up to 48hours before the rental begins and receive a full refund
- What's included in the rental price?
The rental price includes unlimited mileage, 24% VAT tax, Collision Damage Waiver, Theft Protection and Third-Party Liability.
- Is there a minimum rental period?
Minimum rental period is 48hours.
- Am I allowed on all roads in Iceland?
With our 4x4 vehicles, you are allowed on all roads except road F-249. With 2WD and AWD Vans, you are not allowed on F-roads, road 35 and 550.
